About the Artwork
"Liham ng Puso," translating to "Letter of the Heart," encapsulates the deep emotional yearning and homesickness caused by physical distance from one's home country and family. It captures the paradoxical nature of being apart yet feeling an inexplicable connection that defies the boundaries of space. It becomes a poignant exploration of the intricacies of distance and the heartache felt when one is away from loved ones - a longing that knows no bounds yet is tenderly cradled by the hope of reunion.
Although miles apart, the delicate yet resilient threads of understanding form an ever-flowing and interweaving fabric, preserving the delicate bonds that hold souls together. The letter serves as a bridge to overcome the vast expanse, uniting cherished memories of loved ones with present experiences. It stands as a beacon of hope, a testament to love's ability to endure time and space, guiding hearts back into each other's warm embrace.
Submitted under the category of "I'm also a master of art" in the Jeune Pinceau Young Artist Competition 2023, I drew inspiration from the renowned Philippine national artist, Ben Cab. The nostalgia imbued in his works captured the homesickness I felt as a student living away from home. In painting this piece, I sought to capture the intricacy of homesickness yet connection to one's family in one's homeland.

Liham ng Puso, under the eighteen to twenty-two hand drawing category, was assessed by the famous French Art Institutes, the École Supérieure d’Art du Nord-Pas de Calais/Dunkerque-Tourcoing, France, EAC (EAC) in Paris and has been awarded the Prix du talent. It was toured for the World Art Exhibition in France at the Paris town hall, Singapore, China, and Hong Kong alongside works from artists from France, China, Macau, Luxembourg, Japan, and Taiwan.
As one of the winners, I am honored to announce that I will be receiving accredited certificates from these instituted on March 11, 2024. Additionally, as a recipient of this recognition, I have been granted the opportunity to partake in an artistic academic tour to France, including masterclasses with professionals from art institutions and exchange with local young artists.
