Among the lingering impressions of past states,
Fragments of vulnerability accumulate in comfort.


The concept of our personal and private spaces compels me to reflect on who we let in, what we share with the world, and what we keep to ourselves. It is the human concern of privacy, intimacy, and boundaries– to hide away yet yearn to be seen, to long for sanctuary from the world and yet long to be in it, to protect oneself yet still be vulnerable.

One’s private space is a comfort zone where one can hide in one's inner world. It is the physical and psychological state of comfort where one is most vulnerable, and a place one keeps to oneself or shares with those closest. I intend to portray this vulnerability and freedom by using the body to illustrate the gestures of one’s comfort in their familiar and private space. Capturing one’s interior space through the physical body then redefines the boundaries that come with it. However, this is not to protect or place these boundaries but to share in their sanctity and sacredness.

I intend to expand the work and continue the exploration of tiles.
